Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Seasonings
- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts (Can substitute with chicken thighs for a richer flavor.)
- 1 cup buffalo sauce (Adjust for heat preference.)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Slider Assembly
- 12 pieces slider buns (Cut tops off but leave bottoms intact.)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese (Cheddar or mozzarella recommended)
- Optional: ranch or blue cheese dressing (For dipping.)
Instructions
- Preparation: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the chicken breasts in a large pot and cover them with water. Bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked. Drain and let cool slightly.
- Shred the Chicken: Using two forks or a stand mixer, shred the cooked chicken into bite-sized pieces.
- Season the Chicken: In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken with buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir thoroughly to ensure the chicken is evenly coated with the sauce and spices.
- Assemble the Sliders: Arrange the bottoms of the slider buns on a baking sheet. Spoon the buffalo chicken mixture onto each bun bottom evenly. Top each with shredded cheese, diced tomatoes, and shredded lettuce. Place the top halves of the buns back on each slider.
- Bake: Cover the assembled sliders with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Remove the sliders from the oven and serve hot. Optionally, provide ranch or blue cheese dressing on the side for dipping to complement the spicy buffalo flavor.
Notes
- You can substitute chicken breasts with thighs for a richer, more flavorful slider.
- Adjust the amount of buffalo sauce to suit your preferred spice level.
- Using a stand mixer to shred chicken saves time and results in more uniform shreds.
- To make the sliders ahead, assemble without cheese and bake at serving time with cheese on top.
- Serve with celery sticks for a classic buffalo dish accompaniment.
