Description

Oreo Delight is a no-bake, layered dessert featuring a crunchy Oreo crust, a creamy cream cheese and whipped topping layer, silky chocolate pudding, and a whipped topping finish sprinkled with Oreo crumbs. It’s a quick and easy treat perfect for gatherings and satisfies any chocolate cookie craving.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 (14.3-ounce) package regular Oreo cookies (about 35 cookies)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)

Filling

  • 1 (5.9-ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 (16-ounce) container frozen whipped topping (Cool Whip) (thawed and stirred)

Instructions

  1. Make the pudding: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and milk until combined. Set it aside and allow it to thicken, usually about 5 minutes.
  2. Crush the Oreos: Using a food processor, pulse the whole package of Oreo cookies until finely crushed. Alternatively, place the cookies in a zip-top bag and crush them with a rolling pin or meat mallet. Reserve 1 cup of the crushed crumbs for the topping.
  3. Prepare the crust: Mix the remaining Oreo crumbs with the melted butter until well combined. Press this mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch pan using the bottom of a dry-measure measuring cup to firmly compact the crust.
  4. Make the cream cheese layer: In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a mixer until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix well. Gently fold in about half of the whipped topping, being careful not to overmix to prevent the topping from collapsing. Spread this mixture evenly over the Oreo crust.
  5. Add the pudding layer: Spread the thickened chocolate pudding over the cream cheese layer evenly.
  6. Top with whipped topping: Spread the remaining half of the whipped topping over the pudding layer to create a smooth, creamy top.
  7. Finish with Oreo crumbs: Sprinkle the reserved 1 cup of Oreo crumbs evenly over the whipped topping.
  8. Chill: Cover the pan and refrigerate for at least 4 hours to allow the dessert to set properly.
  9. Serve and store: Slice into 12 servings, serve chilled, and enjoy! Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Notes

  • You can crush the Oreo cookies manually if you don’t have a food processor.
  • Be careful not to overmix the whipped topping when folding into the cream cheese to keep it light and fluffy.
  • For easier slicing, use a sharp knife warmed under hot water and dried between cuts.
  • This dessert can be made a day ahead and refrigerated overnight for better flavor melding.
  • Store covered in the fridge to maintain freshness up to 5 days.
