Perfectly balanced and easy to make, it’s an ideal thirst-quencher for hot days, served chilled over ice and garnished with peach and lemon slices or fresh mint.
Ingredients
Scale
Peach Syrup
- 3 ripe peaches, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup water
Lemonade
- 3/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
- 3 cups cold water
- Ice, for serving
Optional Garnish
- Peach slices
- Lemon slices
- Fresh mint leaves
Instructions
- Make Peach Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the peaches soften and the sugar dissolves, releasing the natural peach flavor.
- Cool and Strain: Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the peach syrup to cool to room temperature. Then strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract maximum juice. Optionally, keep some peach pulp for added texture if preferred.
- Add Lemon Juice: Juice fresh lemons until you have about 3/4 cup of lemon juice. Add the lemon juice to the strained peach syrup in the pitcher and stir well to combine.
- Mix Lemonade: Pour in 3 cups of cold water to the peach-lemon mixture and stir thoroughly. Taste the lemonade and adjust by adding more water to dilute or sugar for sweetness to your preference.
- Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for 30 minutes to 2 hours to enhance the flavors and chill the drink thoroughly. Serve the peach lemonade over ice, garnished with peach slices, lemon wedges, and a sprig of fresh mint if desired.
