Description

This Homemade Peach Lemonade is a delightfully refreshing summer drink, combining the natural sweetness of ripe peaches with the tangy brightness of fresh lemons. Perfectly balanced and easy to make, it’s an ideal thirst-quencher for hot days, served chilled over ice and garnished with peach and lemon slices or fresh mint.

Ingredients

Scale

Peach Syrup

  • 3 ripe peaches, pitted and chopped
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Lemonade

  • 3/4 cup fresh-squeezed lemon juice (about 4–6 lemons)
  • 3 cups cold water
  • Ice, for serving

Optional Garnish

  • Peach slices
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  1. Make Peach Syrup: In a saucepan, combine the chopped peaches, 1/2 cup granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup water. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer over medium heat and cook for 5 to 10 minutes until the peaches soften and the sugar dissolves, releasing the natural peach flavor.
  2. Cool and Strain: Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the peach syrup to cool to room temperature. Then strain it through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract maximum juice. Optionally, keep some peach pulp for added texture if preferred.
  3. Add Lemon Juice: Juice fresh lemons until you have about 3/4 cup of lemon juice. Add the lemon juice to the strained peach syrup in the pitcher and stir well to combine.
  4. Mix Lemonade: Pour in 3 cups of cold water to the peach-lemon mixture and stir thoroughly. Taste the lemonade and adjust by adding more water to dilute or sugar for sweetness to your preference.
  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the lemonade for 30 minutes to 2 hours to enhance the flavors and chill the drink thoroughly. Serve the peach lemonade over ice, garnished with peach slices, lemon wedges, and a sprig of fresh mint if desired.

Notes

  • Use ripe, fragrant peaches for the best flavor and natural sweetness in your lemonade.
  • Adjust sugar amount depending on peach sweetness and personal preference.
  • Keeping some peach pulp in the lemonade adds pleasant texture and rustic charm.
  • Fresh lemon juice is key for brightness; bottled lemon juice will alter the flavor.
  • For a sparkling version, replace cold water with chilled sparkling water just before serving.
  • This lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Stir well before serving.
