Description

A delightful frozen treat combining creamy vanilla ice cream and Cool Whip with a crispy, buttery corn flakes topping, enhanced by cinnamon and honey, then drizzled with chocolate and caramel sauces. This no-bake dessert offers crunchy texture and smooth sweetness in every bite, perfect for warm days or any time you crave a delicious twist on classic fried ice cream.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 container (1.75 quart) vanilla ice cream
  • 1 container (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 cups crushed Corn Flakes cereal
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Chocolate syrup, for drizzling
  • Caramel sauce, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Soften Ice Cream: Take the vanilla ice cream out of the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until it softens, making it easier to mix.
  2. Prepare Corn Flakes Mixture: Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the crushed corn flakes and granulated sugar, stirring constantly for about 5 minutes until the cereal turns golden brown. Be careful not to burn the mixture, as it may brown faster; stir continuously.
  3. Layer Base: Spread one-third of the corn flakes mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish. Set this aside to form the base layer.
  4. Mix Ice Cream and Cool Whip: In a large bowl, combine the softened vanilla ice cream and thawed Cool Whip. Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the mixture, then use a spatula to stir and fold until it is well blended.
  5. Assemble Layers: Spread the ice cream and Cool Whip mixture evenly over the corn flakes base in the baking dish. Then, spread the remaining corn flakes mixture evenly on top of the ice cream layer.
  6. Add Honey and Freeze: Drizzle the honey evenly over the top corn flakes layer. Cover the baking dish with a lid or plastic wrap, and place it in the freezer. Freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight until firm.
  7. Serve: Cut the frozen dessert into squares. Serve with drizzles of chocolate syrup and caramel sauce. Optionally, add whipped cream and a cherry on top for extra indulgence. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Be sure to watch the corn flakes closely while frying to avoid burning, as the mixture can brown quickly.
  • For best results, spread layers evenly to maintain a balanced texture and flavor.
  • This dessert can be prepared a day ahead and kept frozen until serving.
  • Adding whipped cream and a cherry on top is optional but highly recommended for extra visual appeal and taste.
  • If you prefer a less sweet topping, reduce the sugar slightly in the corn flakes mixture.
