Description

These French Dip Sliders are the ultimate comfort food, combining thinly sliced roast beef, caramelized onions, and melted provolone cheese on soft slider buns, served with a savory warm beef broth for dipping. Perfect for a delicious appetizer or main course, these sliders are easy to prepare and guaranteed to impress.

Ingredients

Scale

Sliders

  • 1 pound thinly sliced roast beef
  • 6 slider buns
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced

Dipping Sauce

  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Optional

  • Horseradish sauce for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Caramelize Onions: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the thinly sliced onion until caramelized and soft, about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid burning.
  3. Prepare Dipping Sauce: In a small saucepan, combine the beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Heat gently until warm, then transfer the mixture into small individual bowls for dipping.
  4. Assemble Sliders: Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. On each bottom half, layer roast beef, caramelized onions, and a slice of provolone cheese. Cover with the top halves of the buns.
  5. Wrap and Bake: Wrap the assembled sliders tightly in foil. Place them on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts and the sliders are heated through.
  6. Serve: Remove the foil carefully. Serve the warm sliders alongside the beef broth for dipping and offer horseradish sauce on the side if desired.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, brush the tops of the buns with melted butter and a sprinkle of garlic powder before baking.
  • You can substitute the beef broth with au jus from your own roast beef for a richer dipping sauce.
  • Slider buns can be replaced with small dinner rolls if preferred.
