Description

A quick and delicious Egg and Ham Breakfast Sandwich featuring buttery toasted bread, fluffy eggs cooked in a skillet, melted cheddar cheese, and savory deli ham. Perfect for a satisfying morning meal ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Butter

  • 2 slices of classic sandwich bread
  • 3 heaping tablespoons of unsalted butter, split up

Egg Mixture

  • Big 3 eggs, already whisked
  • 1/4 teaspoon flaky kosher salt
  • A sprinkle (1/4 teaspoon) white pepper

Fillings

  • 1 creamy slice of cheddar cheese
  • 2 hearty slices of ham from the deli

Instructions

  1. Prepare Egg Mixture: In a bowl, combine the whisked eggs with the kosher salt and white pepper. Whisk thoroughly until the mixture is well blended.
  2. Heat Skillet and Melt Butter: Place a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter. Allow it to melt and coat the pan evenly.
  3. Butter the Bread: Take the remaining tablespoon of butter and spread it evenly on one side of each bread slice. Set the prepared bread aside.
  4. Cook Eggs and Add Bread: Pour the egg mixture into the warm skillet, tilting the pan to spread the eggs evenly. Lay both slices of bread on top of the eggs with the buttered side facing up and the slices touching each other.
  5. Set Eggs: Let the eggs cook undisturbed for 5 to 7 minutes until the eggs are fully set and no longer liquid.
  6. Flip Eggs with Bread: Carefully flip the entire assembly (eggs and bread) in the skillet so the bread is now on the bottom and the eggs are underneath. Only flip once the eggs are fully cooked to avoid breaking.
  7. Add Cheese and Ham: Place the cheddar cheese slice onto one bread piece, then stack the ham slices on top. If there is any extra egg, flip it onto the ham side to build the sandwich.
  8. Form and Finish Sandwich: Top the ham and cheese with the other bread slice, then flip the whole sandwich over in the skillet. Continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts, and the bread turns golden brown and crispy. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use fresh eggs for the best flavor and texture.
  • Butter the bread generously for a rich, crispy crust.
  • Cook eggs on medium heat to avoid burning or undercooking.
  • Be gentle when flipping the sandwich to keep the filling intact.
  • You can substitute cheddar with your favorite cheese for variety.
  • Serve immediately while hot and the cheese is melted.
