Description
A festive and creamy Christmas Sugar Cookie Cheesecake combining a buttery sugar cookie crust with a smooth cream cheese filling, topped with whipped cream and seasonal sprinkles or crushed candy canes for the perfect holiday dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
Crust
- 1 ½ cups prepared sugar cookie dough
Cheesecake Filling
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
Topping
- 1 cup whipped cream
- Festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes for decoration
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease a springform pan or line the bottom with parchment paper to ensure the cheesecake can be removed easily after baking.
- Prepare the Crust: Press the sugar cookie dough evenly into the bottom of the springform pan to form a firm and even crust layer.
- Make the Cheesecake Filling: In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition to achieve a well-combined filling.
- Bake the Cheesecake: Pour the cream cheese mixture over the prepared cookie crust in the springform pan. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the center is set but still slightly jiggles when gently moved.
- Cool and Decorate: Remove the cheesecake from the oven and allow it to cool completely at room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate the cheesecake for at least 2 hours to let it set fully. Before serving, top with whipped cream and decorate with festive sprinkles or crushed candy canes for a seasonal touch.
Notes
- For best results, use room temperature cream cheese to ensure a smooth filling.
- Make sure not to overbake; the cheesecake should have a slight jiggle in the center when done.
- You can substitute the whipped cream topping with cream cheese frosting or a dusting of powdered sugar for variation.
- If you don’t have a springform pan, a regular pie pan will work but may be harder to remove the cheesecake cleanly.
- Allow the cheesecake to chill thoroughly; this improves texture and flavor development.
