Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 2 cups pancake and waffle mix
- 16 fully cooked breaded, boneless chicken wings (frozen)
- 4 teaspoons bacon jam
- ¼ cup maple syrup
Instructions
- Prepare Waffle Batter: Prepare the pancake and waffle mix according to the package directions, ensuring you follow the specific instructions for making waffles.
- Cook Mini Waffles: Heat a waffle bite maker and cook mini waffles until golden brown. You will need about 32 mini waffles in total.
- Arrange Mini Waffles: Remove the waffles from the waffle maker and separate them into small circles, placing them on a large serving plate.
- Spread Bacon Jam: Spread ¼ teaspoon of bacon jam over 16 of the mini waffles, creating the base layer for the sliders.
- Heat Chicken Wings: Heat the fully cooked breaded chicken wings as directed on the package. The preferred method is air frying for 4-5 minutes on each side, or alternative methods ensuring the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Assemble Sliders: Place a heated chicken wing on top of each bacon jam–coated mini waffle, then top with another mini waffle without jam.
- Secure Sliders: Use a cocktail pick or long toothpick to push through each slider and hold it together.
- Repeat Assembly: Repeat the assembly process with all remaining chicken wings and waffles until all sliders are complete.
- Add Maple Syrup: Just before serving, pour the maple syrup evenly over all the sliders, making sure some syrup fills the holes in the top waffles for added flavor.
Notes
- Ensure chicken wings are reheated thoroughly to a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Mini waffle sizes may vary depending on your waffle bite maker; aim for around 32 pieces.
- For best results, use fully cooked breaded chicken wings for convenience and texture.
- Bacon jam adds a delicious savory sweetness; substitute with another jam if unavailable.
- Maple syrup enhances the classic chicken and waffles flavor profile, but you can adjust quantity to taste.
- These sliders are best served warm, right after assembly.
- Can be adapted for gluten-free by using gluten-free pancake and waffle mix.
